ART-efact Residency Exhibition

Suddenly it was the end of August, and Joseph Schneider, Paul Bohanna, Emma Cummings and me were all scurrying to ready our work for the planned exhibition in Oswestry, for Oswestry. The amazing Holly Maries, who created and has managed the project, steered, soothed and supported us all.

The opening night turned out to be on the hottest day of the year. And the beautiful old Cross Market has a tall glass roof. We opened the doors to the street, and almost 100 people came in, to look at the art, hear a few poems and listen to live music. It did get extremely hot!

The Exhibition stayed up for a week, and attracted 589 visitors. Here’s a closer, and more leisurely look at the work, which was inspired by the town itself, and especially the Town Museum and Oswestry Archives. Special thanks to Kerry at the Archives and Mark at the Museum.

ART-efact Art Residency Oswestry was funded by Arts Council England and Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ)
