Just after Christmas I was interviewed by Anthea and Chris Renshaw of Taptap Sound, with the chance also to make a collaboration with sound artist Chris. This was all put together by the wonderful people at West Midlands-based MediaActive, who work with local people, organisations and creative practitioners to co-design and produce an innovative programme of special projects, commissions, events and exhibitions.
Anthea, Chris and I sat in a beautiful warm studio at the end of their garden on a very cold morning. The cat came in too. We talked for nearly two hours, but the interview, you’ll be grateful to know, is only just over half an hour. And if you just want to listen to Real at Last, the poem that Chris and I collaborated on (I wrote the poem ten years ago, about my travels by bicycle in my twenties, and Chris has made an incredible soundscape around it) – then you can find it at 30:25 on the clip below.
Chris, Anthea, Sue – thank you so much for this opportunity.
